李登輝日前接受日本媒體Voice專訪，稱第二次世界大戰期間的台灣人「身為日本人，為了祖國而戰」，並說「70年前，台灣與日本是同一個國家，既然是同一個國家，台灣對日抗戰當然不是事實」。
李登輝將出席募款餐會，這是相關言論披露後，李登輝首次公開活動。
蔡英文明天一整天安排在苗栗縣、新竹市與新竹縣選舉行程後，立即驅車趕回台北市出席募款餐會。
李登輝署名的餐會邀請函指出，台灣須推動第2次民主改革，喚起公民覺醒，以宣示人民才是國家真正主人。民主不是投票後就放任領導者或民意代表亂來，更重要的是人民積極參與及不斷監督。現在社會各界普遍期待能推動二階段修憲，但遺憾立法院6月修憲草案協商時，因中國國民黨杯葛而破局，確定無法在明年總統選舉公民複決。
李登輝說，憲政工程是國家大政發展根基，改革刻不容緩，基金會將持續推動憲政改造工程，為台灣建立權力分立，權責相符的政治制度。
李登輝說，今年將以「憲改藍圖 全民參與」為募款餐會主題，期盼喚起人民力量，持續推動憲政改革，共同完成這項使命。1040821
